The South African Cricket Team finally got their new batting consultant, former player Neil McKenzie after the losses against India in India and England at their home as McKenzie has confirmed that he will take the job after returning home from United Arab Emirates (UAE).
McKenzie is playing for Virgo Super Kings (VSK) in the Masters Champions League (MCL) at the moment where he also led the side in the absence of another former South African captain Graeme Smith. McKenie said that he will see the details when he comes back.
Virgo side has reached the semifinals which will be played on 11 February whereas tournament final will be played on 13 February. So the former player make take a week or more than that to return. The South African side was looking for a batting consultant for some time.
It would not be a very easy job for McKenzie as South Africa will travel to India to play the World T20 Championship next month, a tournament that they have never won. And that is coming at the time when some of their batsmen are not in a very good form.
South Africa is currently 2-0 down in the One-Day International (ODI) series against England, who could become first team in almost 14 years to beat South Africa in both Tests and ODI series at their home. They will have to win all 3 remaining matches to save themselves from that loss.
