The new captain of the South African Test Cricket Team Ab De Villiers has said that the future of the team is bright as the new comers did great as Temba Bavuma, Stephen Cook and Kagiso Rabada played very well and impressed with their performance.
Stephen Cook made debut in the last test of the series and scored a century in his first innings as he played a great role in winning the match for his side. On the other hand Temba Bavuma has been playing for just over a year and scored his maiden in this series.
De Villiers said that some of the guys are taking full advantage of the opportunities they got and he mentioned the name of Kagiso Rabada who stunned England in the fourth test by picking up 13 wickets in the Test. He said it does not happen very often.
20-year-old Bavuma took 7 wickets in the first innings and 6 in the second, as it was his third five wicket haul in the sixth test. De Villiers said that team showed a great fighting spirit as they came back from 0-2 and went the fourth test match by 280 runs.
De Villiers also added that he is enjoying the role of the captain as he likes the challenges. He said that the rebuilding phase is going on and there is a long way to go so they will have to be patient and give these young and emerging players some time.
