Pakistan Cricket Team players Ahmad Shehzad and Wahab Riaz have been fined 30% and 40% of the match fees respectively by the match referee Roshan Mahanama for indulging in a fight in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) game Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators.
Wahab Riaz was bowling to Ahmad Shehzad when the things got serious. Shehzad hit Wahab for a six off the first ball of the over and Wahab bowled him off the second ball as Wahab shouted and Shehzad showed him the bat. Wahab was furious as he came and pushed Shehzad.
The other players and umpires intervened as both players kept exchanging words. The head of the PSL Najam Sethi was also disappointed on the behaviour of both players and said that they should have been more professional as they are team-mates as well.
Ahmad Shehzad spoke about the incident later and admitted his mistake. He said that he wants to apologize to his fans who were hurt after seeing everything and promised not to repeat the same thing in future. Both players are good friends and play for Lahore in domestic matches.
The opening batsman Shehzad has been dropped from the team but he wished Wahab Riaz all the best for the future and the upcoming tournaments Asia Cup and World T20 Championship. They will next face eachother in the playoffs and probably in the final of PSL as well.
