Islamabad United have secured their third victory of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as they defeated the Karachi Kings side for the second time in the tournament in a very low scoring game as Karachi scored 128/5 in 20 overs and Islamabad chased with 7 balls to spare.
Karachi made a change in the side as they dropped Nauman Anwar and brought in Shahzaib Hasan. But still Islamabad got first wicket early as Imran Khalid dismissed the English batsmen James Vince. He also got Imad Wasim who got out for 0 for the second ball he faced.
Shahzaib Hasan looked in good touch as he hit 3 fours and 1 six to score 27 runs off 19 balls. That was followed by a 60 runs partnership between Ravi Bopara and Bangladeshi wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim. It was broken when Mushfiqur was bowled by Andre Russell after scoring 33.
Bopara was the highest scorer for his side with 45 off just 50 balls. Shakib Al Hasan and Shoaib Malik were not out on 7 as Karachi Kings finished the innings at 128/5 in 20 overs. In reply Islamabad also faced some early trouble as they lost 3 wickets for just 19 runs.
But Misbah-ul-Haq came to rescue to side once again as he is called the man of crisis. He scored 38 runs and he was helped by Khalid Latif who had scored fifty in the last game and scored 33 in this game. At the end Asif Ali played a cameo of 31 runs off 17 balls to take his side over the line.
