Peshawar Zalmi have gone back to the top of table once again as they thrashed the Islamabad United by 7 wickets by chasing 153 runs target due to some brilliant batting by Bangladesh's Tamim Iqbal who scored 80 runs and helped his side win with 9 balls to spare.
Zalmi's captain Shahid Afridi have had luck on his side in the tournament many times and once again he won the toss and elected to field first. Shane Watson looked in good touch again but Peshawar's promising spinner Muhammad Asghar bowled him with a beautiful delivery.
Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif had 46 runs partnership but then Sharjeel was dismissed by Shaun Tait after scoring 28 which brought Misbah-ul-Haq on the crease. They had 57 runs partnership as Misbah hit Shahid Afridi for two sixes and one four in the same over.
Latif scored 59 and Misbah scored 32 as they ended the innings on 152/6 in 20 overs. Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Asghar took 2 wickets each. In reply Muhammad Hafeez hit some classical shots 1 six and 4 fours before he was dismissed by Muhammad Sami after scoring 25.
Jim Allenby and Kamran Akmal scored just 7 and 10 respectively but Tamim Iqbal was in great form as he scored third fifty of the tournament. In process he also became the highest scorer of the tournament. Shahid Yousaf scored 27 and Tamim scored 80 as both took their team over the line.
