Peshawar Zalmi have gone to the top of the table in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as they gave another loss to Karachi Kings who have only 1 win out of 4 matches now after Muhammad Hafeez scored a magnificent innings and Ravi Bopara's fifty went in vain.
Zalmi won the toss and decided to bat first. Their openers Muhammad Hafeez and Tamim Iqbal looked in great form as they had 93 runs opening partnership off just 63 balls. It was broken when Hafeez was dismissed by Ravi Bopara after scoring 59 runs off 35 balls.
Two overs later other opener Tamim Iqbal also departed after scoring 37 runs as his wicket was also taken by Ravi Bopara. Former wicket-keeper/batsman of Pakistan Kamran Akmal scored 30 off 20 balls and Afridi and Sammy had 29 runs partnership off 16 balls at the end.
Afridi scored 17 runs off 9 balls whereas Sammy scored 18 off 10 to help their side reach 182/4. In reply Karachi lost both openers in 5th and 6th overs to be in trouble. They were almost out of the game as they lost their captain and Shakib Al Hasan so they were 48/5 in 8.5 overs.
But then James Vince and Ravi Bopara had a partnership of 61 runs off just 34 balls to bring their side back in the match. Vince scored 44 off 28 balls whereas Bopara scored brilliant innings of 67 runs off 33 balls to help their side close but they fell only 3 runs short and scored 179/9 in 20 overs.
