New Zealand Cricket Team all-rounder Grant Elliott has joined the Quetta Gladiators team in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as replacement of England player Jade Dernbach which will strengthen their side even more which are already on top of the table.
Elliott has been in great form lately as he helped New Zealand win 5 limited overs series in a row. He had also played against Pakistan in One-Day International (ODI) and T20 series so he knows some of his team-mates already and had also played against some of the opponents.
The coach of the Quetta side was very happy on Elliott's inclusion as the player also had some practice before their fifth game against Islamabad United. Quetta had won first three games in the competition but then their winning streak was ended by Lahore Qalandars.
Elliott is an all-rounder who can bat very well in the middle-order and can also bowl with medium pace. They could be strengthened even more when Kumara Sangakkara may come in the side after finishing the Masters Champions League (MCL) tournament.
Sangakkara is playing the other tournament but it will end on 13 and the Sri Lankan legendary batsman may join the squad on 14. Quetta have already got a very strong batting line-up with Ahmed Shehzad, Luke Wright, Kevin Pietersen, Sarfraz Ahmed and Muhammad Nawaz.
