The 15-man squad of Pakistan Cricket Team has been announced for the World T20 Championship which will be held in India next month as there are some surprises because uncapped players Khurram Manzoor, Rumman Raees and Iftikhar Ahmed have been picked.
Shahid Afridi will be captain of the side as he will be playing his last event of the International career. Wicket-keeper will be Sarfraz Ahmed as his assistant Muhammad Rizwan has been dropped whereas Muhammad Amir will also be part of the touring party.
Ahmed Shehzad and Sohaib Maqsood, who have been part of the team for last few years have been dropped whereas Khurram Manzoor and Iftikhar Ahmed have been included out of nowhere. Khurram Manzoor has not played T20 nor he is part of Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Iftikhar Ahmed is another batsman in the squad, who is surprise inclusion as he has not played T20 International yet and scored just 8 runs in 2 ODI games he played. His highest scorer in PSL is 19 so far. Medium-pacer Rumman Raees has also been included, who is representing Islamabad United in the PSL and has picked up only 2 wickets in 3 games so far.
All-rounder Muhammad Nawaz has also been picked, who impressed in the PSL after taking 8 wickets in 4 games and he can bat as well. Immad Wasim will be another spin bowler who can bat as well. Shoaib Malik and Shahid Afridi can do the same.
