Pakistan Under-19 team has qualified for the final of the fifth place playoff in the ICC Under-19 World Cup as they defeated the Nepal side by a big margin of 122 runs thanks to a brilliant all-round display from Hasan Mohsin to scored century and took 4 wickets.
Pakistan had lost to Sri Lanka in the Quarterfinals whereas Nepal were defeated by hosts Bangladesh. The 2004 and 2006 Champions Pakistan did not get off to a good start as opener Muhammad Umar got out for a duck and captain/opener Gauhar Hafeez did the same.
After losing 2 wickets for just 3 runs, there was a 27 runs partnership for the third wicket but then Hasan Khan got out after scoring 13. The fourth wicket partnership between Saif Badar and Hasan Mohsin made Pakistan's position very strong as they added 189 runs.
Hasan scored 117 whereas Saif missed the century by just 12 runs. Pakistan finished at 258/8 in 50 overs as Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets for Nepal. While bowling Hasan Mohsin struck in his first over as he got rid of Nepal opener Sunil Dhamala for just 7 runs.
Among top 7 Nepali batsmen, only only their captain Raju Rijal scored in double figures. Nepal had lost 8 wickets for 67 runs but then Prem Tamang caused some resistance as he scored 65 not out, but his partners were dismissed and Nepal were bowled out for 136 in 43.5 overs.
