The Pakistan Super League (PSL) finally witnessed some cracking and thrilling games as two unbeaten teams Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi took on each other who had won first two games but at the end Quetta emeged victorious after chasing target off second last ball.
Quetta had most of the success while batting second so their captain Sarfraz Ahmed once again chose to field first after winning the toss. Their in-form spinner Muhammad Nawaz did his trick once again and struck twice in the second over as got wickets of both openers.
Tamim Iqbal had scored fifties in first two games but he was dismissed for 14 and Hafeez scored 10. Zulfiqar Babar also joined the party as he dismissed Kamran Akmal and Umar Gul got the wicket of Dawid Malan and two balls later he dismissed dangerous Shahid Afridi.
Nawaz took 3 wickets but Darren Sammy led the recovery of Zalmi as he scored 48 runs off 31 balls to help Peshawar reach 135/7 in 20 overs. In reply Quetta openers Ahmed Shehzad and Luke Wright scored 16 runs each before Sarfraz and Kevin Pietersen had 38 runs partnership.
Quetta were comfortable at 73/2 but then Shahid Afridi struck and then few Quetta wickets fell in regular succession. Pietersen batted beautifully for his 35 runs but he fell down with only 18 runs left. Anwar Ali and Elton Chigumbura made sure that their team went over the line with just 1 ball to spare in a tense finish.
