Pakistan Under-19 team has topped their group after beating Sri Lanka Under-19 in the last match of the group stage as they defeated their opponents by 23 runs in a close and have set up a last 8 clash with West Indies Under-19 whereas Sri Lanka will face England.
Both teams had already booked their spots in the Quarterfinals by winning first two games but the battle was for keeping the unbeaten and 100% win record going. Sri Lankan captain Charith Asalanka won the toss and asked the Pakistani team to bat first.
Pakistani captain Zeeshan Malik opened the batting and was the first one to go down after scoring 11. For the second wicket Muhammad Umar and Saif Badar had 41 runs partnership before they were dismissed after scoring 26 and 24 respectively and Pakistan were 70/3.
Pakistan's fourth wicket fell down when team's score was 96 but Hassan Mohsin scored 86 and helped Pakistan score 200. They were bowled out after scoring 212 in 48.4. Sri Lanka lost four wickets for 63 runs as Hassahn Mohsin also bowled brilliantly and took first two wickets.
Sri Lankan batsman Kamindu Mendis scored a fifty and had 84 runs partnership with Vishad Randika as it looked like they would win the game for their team but then Shadab Khan and Sameen Gul took few quick wickets and dismissed the Sri Lankan side for 189 in 46.4 overs.
