The Pakistan Super League (PSL) organisers have confirmed that they would not allow Muhammad Hafeez to bowl in the competition as they had already made it clear to all the teams before the draft ceremony that Hafeez can only be used as a batsman.
Peshawar Zalmi side had picked Hafeez but the player is banned by International Cricket Council (ICC) to bowl in the International and Domestic competitions. He can be used as a bowler in a competition if the organisers keep him under observation.
But PSL organisers have decided to go with ICC decision and would not allow him to bowl. He had been banned from bowling before the ICC World Cup 2015 but he gave a test again and was allowed to bowl, but then he was stopped from bowling the second time.
Hafeez cannot give a test within a year now so he is only playing as a batsman only. He has been doing well as a batsman in the One-Day International (ODI) and T20 International games so Peshawar would be very happy to the former T20 captain of Pakistan.
