The captain of the Indian T20 Team Mahendra Singh Dhoni has revealed that he still has got feelings for Chennai Super Kings and has not moved on even though he will be playing for Rising Pune Supergiants in the ninth edition, the new team of the Indian Premier Leauge (IPL).
Chennai Super Kings have been suspended for two years and initially there were rumours that Dhoni would not play for any other side. He is the only player to have captained the same team in the first eighth editions of the competition. He lifted the trophy in 2010 and 2011.
Dhoni said that the fans of Chennai had given them so much love and affection that he cannot forget the team easily and it is hard to move on. He said that it is his duty as a professional cricketer to give his 100% for the new team and he will do that for Rising Pune Supergiants.
The wicket-keeper/batsman admitted that there will be extra responsibility as a captain but he will try to do his best. He also mentioned the names of some of his Chennai team-mates Suresh Raina, Brendon McCullum and Ravindra Jadeja, who he will miss in the ninth edition.
Dhoni was happy to have former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming with the new team as he said that they have an old relationship and they feel very comfortable around eachother. He was also happy to have a senior player like former England batsman Kevin Pietersen in the side.
