Gemini Arabians have kept their amazing winning run going and kept their 100% record intact when they defeated Sagittarius Strikers by 10 runs in the semifinals of the Masters Champions League (MCL) to become the first team to qualify for the final of the tournament.
The Arabians had a very strong batting line-up which had helped them in winning many matches and once again their star batsmen Virender Sehwag and Kumara Sangakkara stepped up to help their team put up a big total on the board after winning the toss.
South Africa's Richard Levi was dismissed after scoring just 13 runs but then the show started. Sri Lankan legend Sangakkara scored 62 runs off just 43 balls with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes. Sehwag was the top scorer with 83 runs off 50 balls with 2 sixes and 12 fours.
The batsmen after them have not got an opportunity to do much and once again none of the other batsmen scored more than 20. Gemini scored 191/5 in 20 overs and Sagittarius Strikers lost their captain Adam Gilchrist in the second over after scoring just 12 runs.
Next two batsmen Imran Farhat and Jonathan Trott scored just 8 and 2 runs but Mahela Jayawardene kept going and scored 65 off 52 balls. They were brought back in the match by Phil Mustard who hit 5 sixes and 2 fours in his 48 runs off 18 balls but at the end they fell 10 runs short and scored 181/6 in 20 overs.
