The Virgo Super Kings have booked their spot in the semifinals with a narrow margin win over Capricorn Commanders as Virgo made sure that they go ahead and Commanders will have to wait for the last match's result between Leo Lions and Libra Legends.
The low scoring games have been witnessed very rarely in the Masters Champions League but this was one of such games, when Virgo won the toss and chose to bat first. They lost their first wicket in the second over when Muhammad Yousuf got out after scoring 2.
Humayun Farhat was next and he also scored just 2 runs. Captain Neil McKenzie had 46 runs partnership with Owais Shah. Partnership was broken when Shah was dismissed after scoring 18 and McKenzie was dismissed off the next ball after scoring 43.
Pakistan's Azhar Mahmood has been in good form but he was dismissed for a duck and Hasan Raza scored 32 not out as he helped his team reach 131/9 in 20 overs. In reply it looked like Capricorn will win easily as their openers Andrew Symonds and Ashwell Prince got off to a great start.
They scored 53 for the opening wicket but then Sri Lanka's Malinga Bandara got two back to back wickets to bring his side back in the match. Prince scored 30 as he was the top scorer and batsmen after them could not do much as Capricorn were restricted to 119/9 in 20 overs, falling 12 runs short.
