Virgo Super Kings stun the Leo Lions in a thriller

The Virgo Super Kings side has picked their second very close win the Masters Champions League (MCL) as Pakistani all-rounder showed a brilliant performance and his heroics made that that they edged the Leo Lions team in a thrilling battle that was decided on last ball.

The Leo Lions captain Brian Lara won the toss and elected to bat first, but the bad form continued for him and he could not do much like he used to do in his early days. Lara was stumped off Indian spinner Murali Karthik's delivery after scoring just 1 in first over.

The other other Hamish Marshall also added just 9 runs before he was dismissed by Azhar Mahmood. Johan Botha added 27 runs to his team's total but Herschelle Gibbs also was not able to impress again and very soon Leo side was struggling at 60/5 in 11.2 overs.

New Zealand all-rounders Scott Styris and James Franklin added 21 and 44 respectively and former Zimbabwean captain Heath Streak also scored 21 important runs to help his side reach 146/7. In reply Mohammad Yousuf and Graeme Smith opened the innings for Virgo.

They could not do much and Virgo were not looking so good but then Azhar Mahmood arrived and hit 4 fours and 2 sixes as he scored 48 runs off just 28 balls. After his dismissal James Foster made sure that his team went over the line as he hit a four off the last ball to get the win for his side.
