Sagittarius Strikers have earned their second victory of the Masters Champions League whereas Libra Legends succumbed to their third consecutive loss as Mahela Jayawardene scored a brilliant century and helped his side win the match by 63 runs.
The Strikers' captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and elected to bat first. He came to open himself and in-form Sri Lankan legendary batsman Jayawardene came with him. Once again they got their team off to a great with a century partnership and added 102 runs.
Jayawardene dominated their partnership and even after Gilchrist was dismissed after scoring 38, the Sri Lankan kept going. Imran Farhat came at No.3 and even he did not have to do much either as he scored just 18 runs off 15 balls and got out when team's score was 151.
The former Sri Lankan captain scored 124 off 60 balls and helped his team scored 227/3 in 20 overs. In reply Shane Bond was once again magnificent and took some early wickets to make sure that Libra do not get off to a good start and were out of the game.
Former South African legendary batsman Jacques Kallis tried his best and hit 3 fours and 1 six in his 16 balls 25 runs but he got run out which took the match out of Libra's hand. Zimbabwe's Sean Ervine was highest scorer with 55 as they finished on 164/7 in 20 overs.
