Virendar Sehwag and Kumar Sangakkara fifties help Gemini again

Gemini Arabians win three in a row by edging Capricorn Commanders

Gemini Arabian have completed their hat-trick of wins in the Masters Champions League (MCL) but for the first time they were given a very tough time by Capricorn Commanders who lost by just 10 runs despite half centuries from Virendar Sehwag and Kumar Sangakkara.

Arabians had won first two games very easily due to brilliant form from their top order batsmen, and once again they rose to the occasion. South Africa's Richard Levi performed very well in first two games but failed in this as he scored just 5 runs.

But after him Sehwag and Sangakkara kept the momentum going and had 55 runs partnership off just 31 balls. The stand was broken when Sehwag was dismissed after scoring 59 off just 27 balls. But next batsman, Brad Hodge was also in amazing touch.

Hodge and Sangakkara had 58 runs partnership off 43 balls. Sangakkara scored 65 runs off 40 balls and Hodge scored 29 runs off 25 balls as Gemini ended on 190/4 in 20 overs. In reply Ashwell Prince and Andrew Symonds started in a superb fashion for Capricorn.

Symonds and Prince had 65 runs partnership off just 33 balls, but but then they went back after scoring 30 and 44 respectively. Pakistan's Abdul Razzaq batted brilliantly and hit 3 sixes to take his side close but lower order batsmen could not contribute much and they could score only 180/8 in 20 overs, falling 10 runs short.
