The opening batsman of the New Zealand Cricket Team Martin Guptill who gave a great start to his side in the third One-Day International (ODI) and was given man of the match, was impressed by the all-round skills of the youngster Mitchell Santner who scored winning runs.
Santner was very useful for his side in the T20 series with his tight bowling and did not let Pakistan score many runs, whereas in the ODI series he made some very significant contributions with the bat and helped their side when they were in trouble in first game.
New Zealand were 99/6 in the first game and Santner scored a fifty to help his side score 280 runs. The specialist batsman Henry Nicholls also praised him after the first game as he said that Santner played positive Cricket which allowed him to play anchor's role.
Santner also scored winning runs in the last game as they won the series and hit 2 fours off the last over of Wahab Riaz when they needed 6 off just 6 balls. Guptill said that he is new and learning but he can be very useful for the team in the future.
