Gemini Arabians register their second win of MCL

The Gemini Arabians have recorded their second consecutive win of the Masters Champions League (MCL) as they defeated the Leo Lions by 8 wickets in the fourth game of the competition, thanks to another great display by batsman Kumar Sangakkara and Brad Hodge.

Leo Lions had also won their first game but in the second game Gemini once again showed their batting strength and Fidel Edwards, who took four wickets in the first match had no answer to the powerful strokes of Gemini's legendary batting line-up.

Lions won the toss and their openers Hamish Marsall and Robin Peterson could not do much. Their No.3 batsman Herschelle Gibbs also contributed only 2 runs and soon they were struggling at 57/5 in 8.3 overs, as Muttiah Muralitharan struck three times.

Leo legendary batsman Brian Lara also could not do much but then New Zealand's James Franklin and Scott Styris has 57 runs partnership to take their side above 100. They ended up scoring 132/7 in 20 overs as Muralitharan picked up 4 wickets in 4 overs by giving just 19 runs.

In reply Gemini lost their openers Virendar Sehwag and Richard Levi for just 28 runs but then Sangakkara and Hodge had match winning partnership of 105 runs as they took their side home. Sangakkara scored 41 runs off 41 balls whereas Hodge scored 65 runs off 43 balls.
