The One-Day International (ODI) and Test captain of New Zealand, Brendon McCullum is impressed by the way Kane Williamson led the side in his absence and won the T20 series and then was victorious in the first game against strong Pakistani team.
McCullum is on the brink of retirement and will play his last series against Australia but he has already left the T20 format so that they can do their preparation of the World T20 Championship without him as he would not be the part of the side in India.
The skipper got injured in the game against Sri Lanka and Williamson had to lead the side in that series as well. Williamson won the last game to seal the series and he had received the trophy alongwith Brendon McCullum on that occasion as well.
McCullum said that he is proud to see that team is doing well even though he has stepped down. He said that he wanted to give the players some space so that they can learn how to play without him and all of them have been doing very good job.
New Zealand will be looking to win ODI series against Pakistan by winning the last game which would mean that they will win 5 series in a row after winning T20, Tests and ODIs against Sri Lanka and then T20 and ODI series against the Pakistani side.
