The manager of the Nepal Under-19 Cricket Team Sudeep Sharma has said that they had to justify the 2006 Under-19 World Cup against New Zealand as they won once again and defended 239 runs target in first game of 2016 Under-19 World Cup by beating them.
Nepal scored 238/7 in 50 overs as wicket-keeper batsman Raju Rijal scored 48 runs. Rijal is also captain of the side and manager also praised him. He said that Rijal was a very calm and cool captain so he deserves the credit of the win and should have scored fifty.
The manager said that they were motivated by the 2006 win and rememberd it very well. He said that they are very excited because of the win and wanted to keep the record against New Zealand intact. Sharma said that the hard work of many months has paid off.
Dipendra Singh Airee was also praised by the manager as he said that the player is naturally very talented. Airee picked up three wickets and his throw was the reason last batsman got out and Nepal won the match. Airee also contributed 16 runs with the bat.
