Ferozshah Kotla will not be hosting the second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka. The DDCA was unable to obtain the necessary governmental permissions and following its informing the BCCI, the venue has been shifted to Ranchi. The venues for the first and third T20s however remain unchanged.
The DDCA had continued to face problems in getting the governmental permissions despite the date of deadline had been extended by the BCCI. Furthermore, the DDCA had also sought the assistance of Delhi High Court in helping it to get the said permission like it had, for hosting the fourth and final test match between India and South Africa.
Following the Delhi High Court’s rejection of the said appeal of the DDCA this time, the DDCA duly informed the BCCI that it wouldn’t be able to host the match as the permissions could only be obtained by it by the 12th February, which is actually the scheduled date for the T20.
In spite of these current problems, both the DDCA and BCCI are however sure that there will not be any problems with regard to the venue hosting the scheduled matches in the forthcoming World T20.
