The Gemini Arabians side have got off to a winning start in the Masters Champions League (MCL) as they defeated the Libra Legends side in the opening game as Sri Lankan legend Kumara Sangakkara and South Africa's Richard Levi scored fifties.
Libra Legends won the toss and elected to field first which did not prove out to be a great decision. Gemini openers Virendar Sehwag and Richard Levi gave their side a great start and scored 54 runs in less than 5 overs, before Sehwag got out after scoring 21.
For the second wicket Sangakkara and Levi had 84 runs partnership in just 8.4 overs which made their team's position very strong. The partnership was broken when Levi got out after scoring 62 runs off 43 balls as he hit 3 sixes and 4 fours. He was dismissed by Brad Hogg.
Australia's Brad Hodge finished their innings by scoring 46 runs off 19 balls, as he hit 4 sixes. Their side finished the innings with 234/3 in 20 overs. In reply Gemini bowlers Rana Naved-ul-Hasan of Pakistan and Kyle Mills of New Zealand made job difficult for Libra batsmen.
The highest wicket-taker in the history of International Cricket Mutthiah Muralitharan also gave problem to the opposition as he took 2 wickets. Libra's wickets kept tumbling and they could score only 156/8 in 20 overs as Gemini won the match by 78 runs.
