After losing the One-Day International (ODI) series 4-1, India have got off to a better start in the T20 series as they defeated the hosts Australia at the Adelaide Oval Stadium by 37 runs as Australia were bowled out for 151 while chasing 189 runs target.
Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to field first. Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma gave their side a great start and scored 40 in 4 overs. Then Australian all-rounder Shane Watson came to bowl to give his side break through.
Rohit Sharma was dismissed off the first ball of the fifth over after adding 31 runs off 20 balls. Watson got another wicket later in the over as other opener Shikhar Dhawan got out after scoring 5 runs. That brought Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina on crease together.
Kohli and Raina shared a partnership of 134 runs off 87 balls to take India to a big total. Raina got out after scoring 41 off 34 balls. He was dismissed by James Faulkner, whereas Kohli remained not out on 90 runs off 55 balls. Dhoni scored 11 off 3 balls.
Australian openers Aaron Finch and David Warner gave their side a promising start as they added 47 runs in 5 overs but then Warner got out after scoring 17. Finch scored 44 and Australia looked good when they were 89/1 but then they lost 9 wickets wickets for 62 runs and were bowled out for 151 in 19.3 overs.
