England Under-19 team has bounced back strongly after losing the Quarterfinal against Sri Lanka as they thrashed the Namibian side by 203 runs in the 5th place playoffs semifinals after scoring 283 runs and then bowled out the opposition for just 83 runs in Fatullah.
Namibian side had qualified for the Quarterfinals after stunning the South African team but today they could not show the performance even though they won the toss and elected to field first. England opener Tom Moores and No.3 batsman Jack Burnham were in great form.
They lost first wicket for 26 runs but for second wicket partnership they added 170 runs. Moores scored 85 whereas Burnham went on to score a century. He got out after scoring 109 whereas wicket-keeper Brad Taylor played a cameo of 23 runs off just 11 balls.
In reply Namibia were going fine at 31/2 in 9 overs but then George Garton got the wicket of wicket-keeper batsman Zane Grane who was the second highest scorer with 13 runs. Eben van Wyk got out without scoring any run whereas Jurgen Linde did the same.
Namibia lost 3 wickets by scoring 1 runs but then there was a 39 runs partnership Lohan Louwrens who scored 24 runs and was the top scorer of his side as only 3 players scored in double figures whereas 3 of them got out without making any contribution.
