The opening batsman of the England Cricket Team Alex Hales had an unsuccessful Test Series against South Africa in South Africa as he scored only 136 runs in 8 innings of 4 Test matches, in which he scored just one fifty and had an average of 17 runs.
But the batsman believes that he has learnt a lot in this series and will bounce back strongly after getting the confidence in limited overs matches. He is currently showing good form in the One-Day International (ODI) matches as he has scored two fifties in a row.
Hales has been playing attacking Cricket in ODI as he scored 57 off just 47 balls in the first game in which he laid a strong foundation and his team went on to score 399/9 in 50 overs. In second game he missed the century by just one run and helped his side chase 262 runs target.
The English team still won the Test Series even though Hales could not show his talent but he said that it still feels great to beat the World No.1 Test side at their home. He said that he would try to impress in ODIs and World T20 to make his case strong for Test selection again.
Hales knows that the County Championship will be very important if he wants to be selected for the Test Series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan after the T20 World Cup. He said that he has accepted the challenge and will try to impress the selectors with his red ball performance.
