The leg spinner of the England Cricket Team Adil Rashid is happy with his decision to play Big Bash League (BBL) instead of sitting on the bench in the England test series against South Africa as he had some success in the Australia's T20 League.
The leg spinner played for England in the Test Series against Pakistan in United Arab Emirates (UAE) but could not get much success against strong batting line-up of Pakistan. He enjoyed more success in One-Day International (ODI) series which England won 3-1.
Rashid was useful in T20 series as well, which they won 3-0 and England management advised him to concentrate on white ball cricket so he signed for Adelaide Strikers in the BBL who reached the semifinals as Rashid was second highest wicket-taker of the event.
The English leg-spinner took 16 wickets in 9 matches and only Clink McKay of Champions Sydney Thunder took 2 more wickets than him as he played one more match. But Adil Rashid feels that this was a great exposure as he will play for national side against South Africa now.
Adil Rashid said that he learnt a lot from playing BBL as he played against many different players in different conditions in front of 40,000 to 50,000 crowd in massive stadiums. He said that BBL is probably the second best T20 league of the world after IPL.
