Three matches held on Friday, 29th January in the ICC U-19 World Cup.
The Namibian U-19 team won their match against the Scottish U-19 team, starting off the day’s schedule. Winning the toss, the Scottish team batted first, but could only put up 159 runs before they were all out in 36.3 overs. Michael van Lingen picked up three wickets, while Warren van Wyk, SJ Loftie-Eaton and Charl Brits picked two wickets each. Fritz Coetzee meanwhile picked one wicket.
In their chase, openers Loftie-Eaton and Niko Davin put up a commanding 95-run opening stand, before Davin was out for 52. Loftie-Eaton and skipper Zane Green then finished off the Namibian run-chase by nine wickets, with Loftie-Eaton and Green unbeaten at 67 and 39 runs respectively. Haris Aslam picked the lone Namibian wicket that fell.
For his all-round performance, Loftie-Eaton was acknowledged as player of the match.
Zimbabwe beat Fiji by seven wickets chasing a low-scoring total of 82 and England beat West Indies by 61 runs.
