The Afghanistan Cricket Team has been announced for the Inaugural Asia Cup T20 competition and World T20 Championship as Asghar Stanikzai will lead the side in both competitions whereas their experienced fast bowlers Hamid Hassan and Shapoor Zadran will be back.
Hamid Hasan will not be part of the team in the Asia Cup as he is still recovering from the injury which he suffered many months back. Afghanistan Cricket fans are hoping that he will be back for the World T20 as he has got an excellent average in T20 Internationals.
The pacer has not played for Afghanistan since July but has got 29 wickets in 18 games and has the best average among his country's bowlers who have got atleast 10 wickets. On the other hand Zadran's inclusion is also very important as he has second most wickets.
Zadran has not played for Afghanistan since November but he will play Asia Cup so he will get some momentum before the mega event. Shapoor has got 30 wickets in 21 T20 International matches, only one less than Muhammad Nabi on top, who has played 14 more matches.
Afghanistan has beaten Zimbabwe at their home in ODI and T20 series then in United Arab Emirates (UAE). Zimbabwe is in their group in the qualifying round of the World T20 alongwith Hong Kong and Scotland. Only the topper of the pool will qualify for the main event.
