Australian Cricket Team coach Darren Lehmann, English One-Day International (ODI) captain Eoin Morgan and wicker-keeper Jos Buttler have tweeted against the Mankading incident in the ICC Under-19 World Cup in which West Indian player did the act.
Keemo Paul did it against Zimbabwe when they needed only two runs to win, which brought a strong reaction from all. Morgan believed it was disgraceful behaviour, Buttler thought it was embarrassing whereas Lehmann gave his verdict that it was not out.
Morgan wrote, ''Disgraceful behaviour in the U19CWC. WI's should be embarrassed!!''.
Buttler wrote, ''Can't believe what I've just seen! Embarrassing! #CWCU19''.
The former New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming believed that the game should not have ended this way even if the decision of umpire was right. He wrote, ''Right or wrong, just a sad way to end a good game especially with so much on the line #winatallcosts????''.
Harsha Bhogle came to support the West Indian player as he wrote, ''Amazed that the spirit of the game never comes up when batsmen hit the ball and stay on but does when a bowler mankads a batsman....''.
