The Australian physio and team management have decided to give maximum rest to the T20 captain Aaron Finch who has a hanstring injury and their target is to have him fit for the World T20 Championship so they have named Usman Khawaja as replacement for now.
Usman Khawaja had also replaced Finch in the third T20 game against India and now he will also go on the New Zealand tour in place of him. The left-handed batsman has been in impressive form and injury to Finch can finally give him an ODI game now.
But Finch will be very important for Australian side in the T20 mega event as they have never won it in the history and losing their captain only one month before the competition will be a big blow. The physio confirmed that he would not have a surgery.
The batsman had similar injury in April 2015 but physio Alex Kountouris has confirmed that this injury is not related to the past injury. Alex said that there will be a recovery period for Finch's injury and hopefully he will be all fit before the World T20 Championship.
