The coach of the Australian Cricket Team Darren Lehmann will not travel with the team at the moment as he is waiting for the medical clearance to make sure he is totally fit as he has been told by the Director of Cricket Australia's Chief Medical Officer John Orchard.
The current Assistant coach of Australian team Michael Di Venuto will be interim head coach of the side in the absence of Lehmann as 45-year-old is expected to join the team for the Test Series after the One-Day International (ODI) series in the first week of February.
Lehmann has been diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis but Orchard feels that Lehmann should not fly until he gets the medical clearance, even though he feels healthy and well. Orchard confirmed that Lehmann will meet the specialist in Sydney and will have scans later.
The Executive General Manager of Cricket Australia's performance Pat Howard said that they have got very capable coaches who can replace Lehmann so they would not rush and will wait for the clearance and reports before making any decision as his health is important.
